I have two Apple computers which already considered as vintage Mac (although in fact I have total three Apple, but I don’t know where it is).

MacOS 9 and Win98SE

One of the oldest Mac is PowerBook G3 Pismo. It is equipped with 400MHz G3 Processor and 256MB RAM with only 6GB of hard disk space (It is greater than Asus EEE PC, isn’t it?). Originally it has MacOS 9 as the standard package. Back to 2000, I bought an original Connectix Virtual PC 3 Windows 98 that can run smoothly on OS 9 (it was around AUD 300+). Yeah Win98 and Win2000 were both the good thing at that time.

As we have a new lineup of Apple, Intel MacBook White, which just coming to the house, I just got an idea to go back to OS 9 and tried to reborn Win98SE into the oldest PowerBook. The other PowerBook G4 is still running OSX. The latest MacBook, of course, already powered by “the Leopard”.

As you can see from the picture, it is the screenshot of Win98SE emulated from OS 9, powered by only 400MHz. I tried to install Java 1.5 runtime. It ran well but slow (What can you expect, dugh!)

Later I will take a picture of all three Macs line up and connected together in our new network. :)

Stumble it!
